چکیده

Fragment production has been studied as a function of the source mass and excitation energy in peripheral collisions of 35 Cl+ 197 Au at 43 MeV/nucleon and 70 Ge+ nat Ti at 35 MeV/nucleon. The results are compared to the Au+Au data at 600 MeV/nucleon obtained by the ALADIN collaboration. A mass scaling, by A source ∼ 35 to 190, strongly correlated to excitation energy per nucleon, is presented, suggesting a thermal fragment production mechanism. Comparisons to a standard sequential decay model and the lattice-gas model

Study on the Impact Breakup Model of the Space Target Based on the Thin Plate

In the paper, an engineering model for the impact breakup of the space target is studied based on the thin plate. The average fragment size model for the impact breakup of the thin plate is established depending on the strain rate, according as Poisson statistic fragments are discrete and distribution model is figured out. On the foundation of the constitution analysis for the target and projec...

The Crater Production Functions for Mimas

Introduction: The highly successful Voyager [1,2] and Cassini [3] imaging experiments revealed high quality imaging data that allows for a reasonably good analysis of the crater distributions on the Saturnian satellites [4,5,6]. The observed crater distributions appear to conflict with theoretical crater distributions that are derived from observed projectile populations [6,7]. In order to comp...

Universality of fragment shapes

The shape of fragments generated by the breakup of solids is central to a wide variety of problems ranging from the geomorphic evolution of boulders to the accumulation of space debris orbiting Earth. Although the statistics of the mass of fragments has been found to show a universal scaling behavior, the comprehensive characterization of fragment shapes still remained a fundamental challenge. ...

Coulomb breakup of 11 Be and 19 C

We investigate the Coulomb part of the one-neutron removal cross section in breakup reactions of the neutron rich nuclei Be and C. Approximate Coulomb breakup amplitudes are derived from two distinct theoretical viewpoints. One of these uses an approximation to the distorted-wave Born approximation. The other assumes an adiabatic treatment of the projectile excitation to the low energy continuu...
